UAC subsidiary Irkut Corporation changes name to Yakovlev

MOSCOW, Jul 26 (PRIME) -- Russian aircraft producer Irkut Corporation, a subsidiary of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), has changed its name to Yakovlev, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

The company made the decision taking into account the geography of the company and its competences in civil aviation. The corporate rebranding procedures will be concluded in August.

The Yakovlev Design Bureau has been a part of Irkut Corporation since 2004, and now the entire company will be named after Soviet aircraft designer Alexander Sergeyevich Yakovlev, the company said.
